The word Junket has many meanings:
1. A basket in which fish are caught or carried.
2. A feast or banquet.
3. A pleasure trip or adventure.
4. A tour by government officials at public expense for no discernable public benefit.
5. A dessert made of sweetened milk coagulated with rennet.
When we came up with The Junket Club, we were mainly concerned with meaning 3. However, it may well be the case that there is sometimes food involved (meaning 2). We may even try and make a dessert made of sweetened milk coagulated with rennet (meaning 5). It is unlikely we’ll go on a tour at public expense or carry fish around in a basket, but you never know.
Some lovely rennety Junket dessert
